The Honda CBR650F and CB650F have received significant updates for 2017. Revealed at the ongoing EICMA 2016, the middleweight Honda gets a mild boost in power and features new equipment. The styling has also undergone a few tweaks. Here's 5 New Features for 2017 Honda CB650F & CBR650F !
1. The 2017 Honda CBR650F’s supersport styling is enhanced by a new fairing that looks sportier than before and also adds a bit of functionality by channeling air from the front into the airbox intake duct. Meanwhile, the 2017 Honda CB650F also gets updated bodywork. The riding position has also changed slightly, with the rider sitting further forward now. Both headlamp is an all-LED unit now and looks pretty sharp, while the rear section is similar to the existing CB650F.
2. The 2017 Honda CB650F & CBR650F gets engine tweaks – adding 5 BHP peak power and plumping out the midrange. It also presumably has complied with EURO4 emissions at the same time. Thanks to the shorter air-intake funnels and new 4 into 1 exhaust system, the power from the 649cc, liquid-ccooled, inline–four engine now stand at 90 BHP @ 11.000 RPM and 64 N.m @ 8000 RPM. The new exhaust is more like a free flow exhaust, and also sounds louder than before.
3. Honda says the increase in power is perceivable from 5,000rpm onwards and coupled with the shorter gearing, the 2017 Honda CBR650F and CB650F should be quicker off the line.
4. The suspension forks have been swapped for Showa Dual-bending Valve Technology (SDBV) that’s become so popular with this year’s models. This is an affordable way for manufacturers to emulate cartridge fork technology while keeping price down. The Nissin 320mm discs up front and a 240mm disc at the rear brakes have been updated and ABS is set as standard.
